SUMMARY:Rebecca Clark: Fine Art\, Soft Pastel Workshop
DESCRIPTION:if you're fascinated with vibrant color and line work\, and want to carve out a few hours to work with a new medium\, Becky will introduce you to the immediate gratification of pastel. These classes allow you to experiment while building skill and confidence in your handling of the medium. For beginners and those with drawing experience\, each session will include drawing exercises and opportunities to create finished artworks and offers an open environment of sharing knowledge and posing questions with individual attention. In a very short time span we touch on some of the most important aspects of mastering pastels. You may sign up for one\, or both. If you sign up for both\, the second session will hone in on already acquired skills from the first session. All materials are provided. $20 + $5 materials fee for each class.\n\nA bit about Becky and her art\n\n Because I live on a farm in the foothills of the Berkshires of Massachusetts\, I draw my inspiration for my soft pastel drawings from the colors\, shapes\, lines and textures of various elements found in the organic shapes of nature. I work in my studio from memory\, sketches\, and photographs\, guided by an intuitive process to create a heightened interpretation of the observed and imaginary world around us. My love of drawing led me to explore pastel since mark-making and color meet in this medium. Because pastel is close to pure pigment\, I am able to generate beautifully vibrant colors. I can create subtle gradations of hue\, tone and overlay\, which can be obtained while not losing the expressive qualities of line. Visit Rebecca's website at http://rebeccaclarkartist.com
