5th Annual Mutts & Mimosas
This October, event guests and their pups will heighten their senses with a taste-bud-tantalizing brunch buffet among the crisp, fresh, apple scented air of the season. In its 5th year, Mutts & Mimosas has become a “must-do” event for dogs and their two-legged besties. Proceeds from the event directly support Dakin Humane Society mission to deliver effective, innovative services that improve the lives of animals in need and the people who care about them. Hosted by the premier Quonquont Farm in its rustic barn and bucolic countryside, this unique occasion will feature a MYO Mimosa Bar lined with fresh fruits and a specialty apple cider mimosa, as well as Tito’s Handmade Vodka Lemonade Stand. Guests’ ears will perk up with live music by Banish Misfortune, a six-member group playing traditional Irish music. Private doggie/human reiki sessions will soothe that behind the ear itch and a photo booth for dogs and their humans will commemorate this delightful, Autumn occasion. Additional fundraising efforts at the event include an exciting silent auction and a one-of-a-kind Wall of Wine raffle that will feature a year’s worth of wine (52 bottles!). Raffle tickets are $25 each and will be limited to a total of 200, increasing the odds for those who participate. The winner will be drawn at the event on October 1. Raffle tickets for the Wall of Wine are available in advance of the event at Dakin Humane Society’s two locations, Springfield and Leverett, as well as at the event. Entrants do not need to be present during the drawing to win. Dakin Humane Society is a community supported animal welfare organization that provides shelter, medical care, adoption services, spay/neuter services, and behavioral rehabilitation for more than 20,000 animals each year. Since its inception in 1969, Dakin has become one of the most recognized nonprofit organizations in the Pioneer Valley and a national leader in animal welfare. Tickets are $75 per human and honored four-legged guests are complimentary. Early bird tickets for humans are available for $60 through September 10. Meal tickets for dogs are $10 (chicken, gravy and rice). Tickets are available online at: dakinhumane.org/mutts-and-mimosas.html.
